| Tabanidae Horse Fly | This horse fly larva was collected in late July in a pond on the shoulder of the Uncompahgre Plateau. I've heard that tabanid larvae will eat frogs, and now I absolutely believe it. The larvae can inflict a more painful bite to humans than the adults.
